The conductive polymer working element is available in two types: carbon plastic (P) and graphite-filled polymer (P1). The cable from each working element is made of KGN-XL EHZ-U cable, crimped with a cable terminal, and brought to the surface. The casing used for the anode grounder prevents the activator from spilling during storage, evenly distributes the fill along the working element, ensures reliability during transportation and installation, and promotes the distribution of anode current from the working element surface. When used directly in soil, the casing material dissolves quickly. The mechanical strength of the bandage and fastening components (tensile strength) during assembly of complete deep anode grounders into a column is at least 35 kN. The calculated number of anode grounders (AG) per column (at maximum allowable working element weight) is at least 38 units; if necessary, the bandage design can be reinforced to increase the number of AGs in the column (upon request).

The main application of extended anode grounders is the protection of industrial sites, underground parts of tanks, as well as sections of main pipelines located in high-resistance soils (permafrost, rocky, sandy soils).

Installation of the extended anode grounder is performed along the protected structure.

The anode design allows installation in boreholes using horizontal directional drilling (HDD).

Technical description:

AZPr Type 1 contains: a working element made of metallic conductor and conductive coating (graphite-filled polymer) placed coaxially along the central axis, an activator surrounding the working element, a conductive coating, and a braid.

The mineral activator consists of carbon fill based on graphite powder, and the conductive coating is made of fabric with a braid on the outside. A flexible multi-strand tinned copper wire is used.

Products have the following distinctive features:

• Installation of AZPr-1 is carried out directly in the same trench as the protected utility;
• Repairability due to the use of a conductive pipe and special filler gel in the AZ design;
• In-house production allows fulfilling any customer requirement for AZPr execution.

The standard cable lead length is 2 meters.

The protective casing used for the AZP-P prevents the activator from spilling during storage, ensures uniform distribution of the backfill along the working element, provides reliability during transportation and installation, and reduces the transition resistance to current spreading of the anode grounding system. When installed directly in the soil, the casing quickly dissolves.

For convenient installation and handling operations, the anode ground electrode is equipped with a transport handle.

The length of the anode cable is determined according to the Customer’s technical specification.

Advantages of the grounding electrodes

• A special connection cable of the manufacturer’s own production KGN-HL-ECHP-U is used, featuring reinforced insulation and sheath.
• Reduced current spreading resistance due to the improved formula of the proprietary coke-mineral activator KMA.KMG.
