They are most commonly used when laying gas and oil pipelines. PM anodes provide reliable protection of metal structures against corrosion damage.<\/p>\n<p>PM-20 is a special magnesium alloy that can be packaged in a cotton bag with an activator composition. Two modifications of the model are available for sale. One is supplied in a bag, the other without it. Each is equipped with a terminal for cable connection. PM-20 can be ordered with any cable length.<\/p>\n<p>Installation of PM is performed in a trench or borehole. The anode is then covered with soil and compacted. Models with a bag and activator must be additionally moistened with water. Some types of PM can be installed under tank bottoms. The activator contains:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Bentonite clay \u2013 50% of the composition;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Construction gypsum \u2013 25% of the composition;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Epsomite \u2013 25% of the composition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The magnesium anode is suitable for use in soil with a specific resistance of no more than 50 Ohm\/m. The service life depends on the type of soil, size, and weight of the PM. On average, it is about 5\u201310 years of continuous use.
