The extended anode model APr.KMG must be purchased for use in systems protecting metal structures from corrosion. They are used in the gas and oil industries for underground constructions.

The grounders are designed for installation in sandy, rocky, and permafrost soils. Extended anodes can be ordered when arranging cathodic protection systems on underground sections. They are suitable for use on various tanks, gas distribution stations, and other pipelines intended for high-hazard mixtures.

Extended anode APr.KMG Type 1 is a low-solubility grounder with a thin-carrying cable. The electrode is placed in a coaxial sheath, and the cable is equipped with special insulation. The working element is coated with metal oxide and resistant to corrosion. The price of the extended anode depends on the length, which is determined by the customer’s requirement and construction plan.

Product Specifications

A distinctive feature of extended anodes is installation in a horizontal borehole. Grounders are produced in several modifications, each with specific cable cross-section parameters.

Continuous service life is at least 30 years. The length of the grounder is determined by the project and agreed with the customer. Delivery of extended APr.KMG Type 1 anodes is discussed individually at the order stage.

Type 1 APr contains: a working element made of metallic conductor and conductive polymer (graphite-filled) coaxially along the central axis, activator surrounding the working element, conductive sheath, and braid.

The mineral activator consists of carbon fill based on graphite powder, and the conductive sheath is made of fabric with a braid on the outside. Flexible multi-strand tinned copper wire is used.

The products have the following distinctive features:

  • Installation of APr is performed directly in the same trench as the protected utility;
  • Repairable due to the use of a conductive pipe and special filler gel in the anode design;
  • In-house production allows fulfilling any customer requirement for APr execution.

The project for the production of extended anode grounders with improved operational characteristics was implemented with support from the Fund for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in the Scientific and Technical Sphere (Innovation Assistance Fund), grant agreement No. 119GKS7-I5/49589 dated 09.09.2019.
