We offer to purchase instrumentation and control posts (ICP) — key elements of cathodic protection systems (CP) that ensure reliable operation and monitoring of underground metal structures.
Purpose and functions of ICP
ICP units are intended for switching power and measuring circuits, controlling parameters, and ensuring stable functioning of CP systems. Main tasks:
- Switching power circuits — supplying and distributing cathodic protection current.
- System parameter control — measuring currents, voltages, and potentials.
- Pipeline condition monitoring — connecting measuring instruments for operational diagnostics.
- Operational safety — preventing accidents and ensuring stable corrosion protection.
Installation and standards
Installation of ICP units is carried out in accordance with the requirements of:
GOST R 51164, RD-33.040.99-KTN-210-10, RD-91.020.00-KTN-234-10, etc.
Instrumentation and control posts are installed:
- At every kilometer of the pipeline route.
- In zones affected by stray currents and aggressive soils.
- At a distance of three pipe diameters from CP installations.
- Near valve sites and at the boundaries of protection zones.
- One on each bank of underwater crossings; if the water protection zone width exceeds 500 m — two on both sides.
- At intersections with other utilities, roads, and engineering structures.
Design and configuration
- Triangular post made of frost- and fire-resistant composite material (180 mm side).
- Signal cap with reflective elements.
- Terminal panel with contact clamps.
- Terminal compartment cover with lock.
- Cable entry opening.
- Anti-vandal anchoring device.
- Optional indicator boards or kilometer markers.
